You've sent out your first campaign, and people are opening up your messages. You're curious as to how you're doing in concrete terms, so you open up the report for that email campaign.

At the top, you immediately notice that there were 1938 recipients. "Wait a minute," you think to yourself. "That can't be right; my list has 2000 subscribers on it!"

Why is there a discrepancy?

Total Recipients vs. Total Subscribers

In our hypothetical example, we have 2000 active subscribers on our mailing list. These address are valid, have not caused any hard bounces yet, and are do not appear to be problematic in any way. We send an email campaign to this list, and the report for this campaign indicates that only 1938 people received emails.

Here are some reasons why the two numbers differ:

  1. Failed Deliveries: For whatever reason, some of the addresses became invalid in between the time when the user subscribed and the email campaign. Because of this, these email addresses resulted in hard bounces.
  2. Suppressed Email Detection: You've chosen to include some of the addresses on this list in your suppression list; because you've opted to include them on the global suppression list, instead of on a list-by-list basis, Sendloop omits these addresses from the campaign.
