If you need to ask for and store more information about a user than his/her name and email address, you can easily do so by adding custom fields to your subscriber lists. These custom fields should correspond directly with the information you're asking your users to provide when they sign up.

Within these custom fields, you can store different types of data, including single lines of text, numbers, paragraphs, and so on. You can also store more complex values, such as checkbox-, dropdown-, or multiple choice-type lists.

You create different custom fields for each list, so to work with custom fields, navigate to the Subscribers page, and click to open the list to which you want to add custom fields.

On the Overview page for the subscriber list, you'll see the Custom Fields section to the right.
